Nice job working on the course Piano Basics: Playing Without Reading Music! Now that you’re up to scratch with your major and minor scales on the piano, there are a few different steps you can take.
Learn more without reading music
This course was designed to be a complete beginner’s guide to starting the piano. If you want to progress but don’t want to get into reading music, that’s completely doable! There’s still loads of lessons and theory you can learn without needing to read music – check out this video to see a logical next step.
If the demand is there, I’ll create another course to progress from this one, which would be the perfect next step for learning without reading. Stay tuned for more on that.
Learn more by reading music
At some point on your piano journey you’ll need to start reading music. Although tricky at first, it’s like learning a language – the more you practice, the easier it will become. Check out this video as a starting point.
If you want to take this route, it would also be good to get a beginner’s piano book, for instance one like this. These will all teach you how to read music, and will give you some tunes to practice.
Take more online courses
Another good option would be to peruse more online courses – but knowing where to start and finding the time and energy to complete them is tricky!
We’re trying to make this easier at Pyxium, by creating a value system around online learning. If you complete a course on the Pyxium platform, you can earn ‘pyxies’ – and those pyxies can be used to buy things in the Pyxium marketplace.

Happy piano learning!
